Art Around the Park on Sept. 14th

  1. Morristown is known as the military capital of the American Revolution, the birthplace of the telegraph, a society center for the nation’s millionaires at the turn of the 20th century and home to the Seeing Eye.  It was never known as an Arts District …that is, until now.

You won’t want to miss Art Around the Park, Morristown’s quarterly, self-guided art walk celebrating the visual arts, featuring the Arts Council of the Morris Area, Simon Gallery and the Hyatt Morristown on September 14, 2012 from 5-8pm at downtown galleries and alternative art venues located in proximity to Morristown’s historic Green. Participating galleries include the Simon Gallery (48 Bank Street), the Arts Council’s Gallery at 14 Maple (14 Maple Ave.) and Atrium Gallery (10 Court Street, 2nd – 5th floors), gallery space in Citibank (30 W. Park Place), Sweet Lucy’s Bakery (56A South Street), J&K Steakhouse (56 South Street) and at the Hyatt Morristown’s Eclectic Grill  (3 Speedwell Ave.). Free shuttle bus service runs the entire evening, stopping at the front door of each show and ending up at Hyatt Morristown where a three-course prix fixe ($25.00) family style dinner is served at the eclectic Grill. Call Maggie Mahoney @ 973.647.1234 for reservations. Maps and general information about this walking tour may be obtained at www.simongallery.org/aap.
