Jefferson School – Spiritree Artist Residency Program

IMG_8280This may look like an ordinary paper bag but in the hands of talented 4th graders at Jefferson School in Maplewood and under the guidance of Spiritree teaching artists, Carol Hendrickson and Marco Giammetti – it was shaped, sculpted and crafted into an amazing work of art. Students worked with the artists for 10 days to create an entire art museum within their school – exploring many different periods and styles of art. Watch this amazing video  to see how students created their masterpieces, installed the exhibitions, created art itineraries and even trained student docents to explain the work.

Also hear their comments about the experience itself. What an amazing project! We congratulate the students, teachers and administrators at Jefferson School!
