An original member of CNBC’s Fast Money, Guy is currently the Director of Advisor Advocacy at Private Advisor Group (Morristown, NJ) which is comprised of a network of nearly 600 advisors and with assets approaching $17B. Guy has held numerous key leadership roles in the financial services industry. Beginning his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1986, he was quickly promoted to Vice President and Head Gold Trader at the firm. He then joined Goldman Sachs in 1996 as the Head Gold Trader and one of the many proprietary traders within the Fixed Income Currency and Commodity division. In the spring of 2000, Guy joined the U.S. Equities division of Goldman Sachs where he led the firm’s Industrial/Basic Material group. Additionally, he is the Vice Chairman of the NJ Chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which named him “Man of the Year” in 2015, and serves on the board of Invest in Others. In August 2012, Guy completed the New York City Ironman Triatholon.

With a degree in Electrical Engineering (Fairleigh Dickenson), he started his own defense technologies company (Electro-Radiation Inc.) which he sold to Honeywell in 2004. To make a difference in the world around him, Mario boosted New Jersey’s flagging entrepreneurial scene by creating the State’s first technology accelerator, TechLaunch. Committed to identifying and nurturing early stage ventures via mentoring, coaching, and providing access to resources and capital, TechLaunch has propelled 26 tech companies onto the marketplace, and mentored over 65 budding entrepreneurs. Mario is also the Founder (2006) of Casabona Ventures, a micro-VC firm that invests in post-seed stage companies, focusing on the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution. On several university advisory boards, he is a frequent guest lecturer and was honored by the NJ Tech Council as their Legend of Technology (2013) and Financier of the Year (2010). In 2014, the Star Ledger named him among NJ’s top five most influential people in technology and, in the same year, he was named NJ’s Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year. Mario lives in Morris County, enjoys mentoring, launching new ventures, vacationing and spending casual time with family and friends in his Catskills retreat.
