Dedicated to enriching and transforming lives through the arts, the Arts Council of the Morris Area has provided arts leadership in the greater Morris Area for the past 37 years. Partnering with community boards, social service groups, governments, schools, arts groups and individual artists, it provides artistic programming for events such as First Night Morris, Third Saturdays at Morris View and Midday Music on the Green, and offers outstanding and extensive Arts Education programs, reaching over 120,000 students annually. The Arts Council promotes the arts as a means of strengthening family/community bonds and it offers annual scholarships, public recognition and professional development to artists and arts organizations throughout the community. The Arts Council also employs the arts to promote healing, enhance environments and enrich lives. As a private, nonprofit organization, the Arts Council relies exclusively on private and group donations, along with state, corporate and foundation funding to continue its critical work. Its many programs and services have garnered top awards on both state and local levels for “artistic excellence, substantial programming and broad public service” and have been an invaluable resource to schools, artists, arts organizations and the community for three and a half decades.
