Residents of Morris View Healthcare facility enjoyed a belated Valentine’s Day serenade – on February 18th– when the Morris Music Men’s barbershop chorus and local quartet, The Four Old Parts, brought their a cappella harmonies to the Morris View atrium. During its performance, the chorus also sang “Happy Birthday” to Rose Matera, who recently turned 100, along with her 101-year old sister, Mary Soranno. The concert is part of a monthly performance series programmed by the Arts Council of the Morris Area in collaboration with the County of Morris. The Morris Music Men are also among the local arts organizations receiving grants from the Arts Council of the Morris Area – with funding made possible through the New Jersey State Council on the arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

British singer/songwriter John Waite has come a long way since his #1 Billboard hit “Mising You.” He formed the supergroup Bad English, put out five solo albums, had a hit duet with Alison Krauss, and established himself as a brilliant and engaging stage performer. We expect a thoroughly entertaining acoustic evening with one of rock’s most charming and accessible troubadours.

Special guest Suzie Vinnick is a force-of-nature Canadian blues belter and guitarist whose big voice and virtuoso playing lead often to comparisons to a young Bonnie Raitt.

As always, refreshments are included in the price of admission and there is plenty of free parking.
