Theatre: The Baker's Wife.
It's an old story: an aging baker, his much younger wife who leaves
him for a handsome lothario and the village that intervenes to bring them back
together. Old world charm permeates every moment of this bittersweet, wise and
gently offbeat fable of life, love and bread by Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the
Roof) and Stephen Schwarts (Godspell, Pippin).

The Growing Stage - The Children's Theatre of New Jersey
Theatre: Lily's Purple Plastic Purse. What happens when you have something
really, really, really wonderful to share at school, but it's not sharing time?
Poor Lily finds out the hard way in this play by Kevin Henkes. Her movie star
sunglasses, her three shiny quarters, and that purple plastic purse...ah, they
are just too much and she has to share them. Mr. Slinger, her teacher, has to
take them, of course, and then Lily exacts her "revenge." But all works
out in the end and Lily still wants to be a teacher when she grows up...unless
she decides to be a scuba diver.

The Bickford Theatre
Theatre: The Grass is Greener, a 1960 play by Hugh and Margaret
Williams. A stately home of England owned, of course, by a lord and lady and
replete with a stuffy butler, is the setting for this romantic comedy in which
an American millionaire and the lady of the manor fall in love. Perhaps it takes
a duel to save this aristocratic marriage.

Women's Theater Company
Theatre: Souvenir by Stephen Temperly. An unusual musical about
Florence Foster Jenkins, a wealthy society eccentric suffering under the
delusion that she was a great coloratura soprano, when in fact she was incapable
of producing two consecutive notes in tune. As news of her terrible singing
spread, so did her celebrity. Her growing mob of fans packed her recitals,
stuffing handkerchiefs in their mouths to stifle laughter - which Mrs. Jenkins
blissfully mistook for cheers.
