Morris Arts’ 10th Annual Pumpkin Ilumination rescheduled for Monday October 28th, 2019

Due to expected heavy rain, our 10th Annual Pumpkin Illumination Event has been rescheduled for Monday, October 28th!

Live Jazz – Art Workshop – Luminary Parade – Pumpkin Illumination
Join Morris Arts for an evening of fun for all ages!

5:00 p.m. – Bring your carved pumpkin to the reflecting pond in front of the Vail Mansion in Morristown. Enjoy live jazz by The Lintet!

The Lintet is led by Taiwanese-American trombonist Peter Lin, a creative musician active on the New Jersey and New York scene. Peter has performed with many notable artists (Slide Hampton, Winard Harper, Charli Persip, Valerie Ponomarev, Frank Lacy, JD Allen, & Radam Schwartz) and is an established educator, on the faculty at Melissa Walker & Christian McBride’s non-profit organization, Jazz House Kids. He is also the co-founder of the jazz entertainment company, Yardbird Entertainment, which provides quality jazz music to the tri-state area. The band’s repertoire includes popular jazz standards, soul classics, exciting originals, and even special renditions of Taiwanese folk songs.
5:30 – 6:15 p.m. – Workshop with artist Dan Fenelon followed by a luminary parade led by Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty.

Dan Fenelon works with communities to create one of a kind original art projects. In keeping with the “Halloween” theme, there will be creatures and masks to decorate culminating in a parade before the pumpkins are illuminated.

6:15 p.m. – Pumpkin Illumination! Lighting of the pumpkins
