On Sunday, Oct. 24, (rain date: Monday, Oct. 25), from 5 – 8:30 pm, Morris Arts will present its 11th annual Pumpkin Illumination, a family evening of frightfully delightful fall fun.
This popular annual event is one of Morris Arts’ creative placemaking initiatives, developed to bring expressive, free, and fun artistic happenings to nontraditional spaces, and to promote a sense of community through the arts. People of all ages eagerly anticipate this ghoulish gathering at the Vail Mansion plaza and lawn, 110 South St. Morristown.
Live jazz by The Alex Lazzari Quartet will begin at 5 pm and liven up the beginning of an illuminating evening. Dan Fenelon, a local artist, and students from the Morristown High School theater and art departments will host creative interactive workshops that people of all ages will want to participate in before the luminary parade begins.
5 pm – Bring your carved pumpkin illuminations to set around the reflecting pool.
5:30 – 6:15 pm – Workshops start with Dan and the students followed by a luminary parade led by Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty and his wife Mary Dougherty.
6:15 pm – Pumpkin Illumination! Lighting of the pumpkins around the reflecting pool of the Vail Mansion.
