The opening reception for the Atrium Gallery’s latest exhibition, Artistic Facets, took place Thursday, November 7. Curated by Dr. Virginia Fabbri Butera, this exhibit of over 160 artworks features oil and acrylic paintings, multi-media found-object paintings and sculptures, photography, site-specific mixed media sculptures as well as many soul-satisfying paintings.
The exhibition showcases the work of 11 artists including Elaine Chong, Paul Genader (2nd floor); Ed Fausty, Wendy Hirschberg, Patrick Gallagher (3rd floor), Sue Zwick, Barbara Neibart, Pasquale Cuppari (4th floor); and Dick Eger, Robert Lach, and Linda Streicher (5th floor).
This show reveals the artists’ fascination with a great variety of materials, styles, imagery, ideas, and meanings. It is, indeed, an invitation to laugh, contemplate, explore, and savor the extraordinary objects they have created.
Curator Dr. Butera holds a BA in Renaissance Studies from Trinity College, an MA in Art History from Johns Hopkins, and a Ph.D. in Art History from the City University of New York. For over 25 years, she was a Professor of Art History, Chairperson of the Art Department, and the founding Director/Curator of the Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery at Saint Elizabeth University, Morristown, NJ. There, she curated 44 exhibitions of contemporary art and led 20 artists’ panels. In additional she curated six exhibitions at the Gallery at 14 Maple and has organized shows at several other area galleries.
The Atrium Gallery, located on floors 2-5 of the Morris County Administration and Records Building, is free and open to the public during business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM).
