Storytelling Arts
Storytelling Arts
Storytelling Arts is a nonprofit community of story writers, performers, and teaching artists who support the transformative power of inclusive storytelling. We use stories as gateways to our shared human experience and tools to make us more human together. Stories seed empathy and compassion, and challenge assumptions and stereotypes. They also move the needle on literacy and social-emotional development to develop the listening, speaking, writing, and critical thinking skills of students. Since its founding in 1996, Storytelling Arts has been providing powerful storytelling performances and outcome-driven educational programs to schools, juvenile detention centers, homeless shelters, and human services organizations throughout the state. Residencies are implemented over four to twenty weeks. Transformative professional development training for teachers is also available in-school, virtually, and through an immersive 4-day training each summer. Grades PreK-8. $550 – $700 per day (up to 4 classes).
